Northwest Missouri native, Phil Vandel, has traveled the world with his music and continues to bring his powerful, unique style of singing, songwriting, and guitar playing to audiences around the globe at over 175 shows per year. With performances throughout North America, including several shows each year in Las Vegas for Military charities, Phil has literally performed everywhere from Hollywood to DC and Canada to Mexico. Phil has been a band member for several multi-award winning groups and has appeared in Country Weekly Magazine, on CMT, GAC, and on Country Radio Stations worldwide. Phil has written and performed dozens of successful radio jingles for businesses throughout the Midwest and has sung and/or played lead guitar on hundreds of production music library songs and albums. In 2006, Phil even sang two songs on a Hallmark Keepsake “MP3 Player” Christmas ornament distributed worldwide. Phil has written or co-written hundreds of songs and radio jingles for artists and businesses throughout the country.
Phil is a proud supporter of the U.S. Military and has donated countless hours performing shows for active, retired, and wounded warriors coast to coast. Phil has performed at multiple "welcome home" events for returning troops, and he has spent many holidays at military hospitals with soldiers too injured to be home with their families. Phil has volunteered many hours at schools throughout America offering motivational speaking and singing to kids with Medal of Honor recipients and other distinguished guests to educate kids on the price of freedom and to encourage them to give back to their communities and the country. In 2009, Phil was blessed to be a part of the American Airlines / Operation Iraqi Children group that flew into Bahrain, Germany, Kuwait, and Iraq to entertain the U.S. troops deployed there. In 2010, Phil and his band embarked on two separate tours to
Kuwait and Iraq for an incredible string of headlining shows for the soldiers there. On his May 2010 trip to Iraq, he set a record for performing the most shows of any music group on a single trip down-range by logging 18 full production concerts in just 9 days with every show at a different base. When COVID shut the world down, Phil teamed up with the USO DC and was spending his days songwriting with wounded Veterans all across America via Skype and Facetime to help them write “their story”.
Since his overseas concerts, Phil and the band have performed coast to coast including a huge 4th of July Celebration in Washington DC, multiple enormous fundraisers for Skyball in Dallas, TX (w/ Wynonna, Tim McGraw, Pitbull, etc…), a Military Ball in Hawaii, and a multitude of performances in Las Vegas. In early 2013, Phil re-wrote, recorded, and shot a video for the Johnny Cash classic “Ragged Old Flag” for NCOA (Non-Commissioned Officers Association) in Texas. The video premiered at their National conference in Las Vegas in July 2013 to rave reviews. Early 2013 also brought an opportunity for Phil to view a private screening of a film titled, The Hornet’s Nest, released to theaters nationwide in May 2014. Inspired by the powerful movie, Phil and fellow songwriters Scoop Davis and Bob Vincent wrote a song titled “Tears Of War” and Phil can be found singing it on the Official Motion Picture Soundtrack alongside Wynonna, Kidd Rock, and others. Phil and his band are also a big part of the Veteran’s Day “Salute To The Troops” event in Las Vegas each year with Gary Sinise & The Lt Dan Band as they say thanks through their music at a concert for wounded warriors and over 10,000 fellow patriots. In 2021, Phil was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame as one of the original lead singers of the hit country group Dixie Cadillacs. Phil Vandel has shared the stage with an enormous list of stars like: Charlie Daniels, Montgomery Gentry, Gary Allan, Clint Black, John Michael Montgomery, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, and many, many others.
Beyond his successful original songs, Phil Vandel has a repertoire of hundreds of popular covers and even though his roots are in country music, his extraordinary musical versatility offers something for almost everyone. You can expect the show to cross many genres with country selections ranging from Merle Haggard, George Strait, and Garth Brooks to Eric Church, Brett Eldridge, and Blake Shelton. The rock songs might vary from .38 Special, The Eagles, and Lynyrd Skynyrd to Bryan Adams, Rick Springfield, and Bon Jovi. The show is fun and interactive with audience members often finding themselves on stage with the band singing along or playing air guitar. Powerful. Inspirational. Moving. Exciting. Patriotic. Rockin’. Killer. Awesome. That’s just a few ways audience members have described a Phil Vandel concert. How will you?
