We are the Kansas Kountree Kloggers!
Our group has been together since 1978 (41 years). We are based out of Wichita, Kansas. Currently we have eleven members ranging in all ages with additional students taking lessons. We practice performance clogging at Kiwanis Park, 5101 W. 2nd, Wichita, Kansas. We also offer beginning clogging lessons, intermediate, and advanced clogging.
We are a performing team with a great variety of music, from country and bluegrass, to rock and roll, to pop rock, to Irish and German music; a little of something for everyone! Our routines have included partner, line and duet clogging. We have performed for the Kansas State Fair since the early • 1990s, area festivals such as Octoberfest in Delano District, Udall Fall Festival, Belle Plaine Tulip Festival, Automobilia Moonlight Car Show, many care homes and assisted living facilities. We also do many parades such as Veterans Day Parade, Wichita, Ks., Old Settlers Day, Mulvane, Ks., Greater Andover Days, Andover, Ks., Fall Festival and Christmas, Rose Hill, Ks. and Fourth of July and Christmas, Derby, Ks. We have a float that we enter into the parades.
Clogging originated in the Apalachian Mountains. It was considered an Irish jig dance. Since that time it has been refined as clogging. Our group is a Western style clogging..
