The swinging sounds of the jazz age come alive with the Great Plains Jazz Orchestra (GPJO)! Led by Keith Woolery, this acclaimed group delivers sweet rhythms of jazz classics and rarities through superior instrumentals and heartfelt vocals. With their unique brand of Americana and jazz festivity, the GPJO brings the party to you! This fun, professional group began more than 20 years ago as the Boeing Jazz Band, now carrying on as GPJO with the ideals of a community-based organization.
GPJO interprets the great American song book in their own unique fashion, bringing the swinging sounds of the jazz age back to life. From concert halls to dances, festival stages to elegant soirees, listeners and dancers agree — with their infectious beat and enthusiasm this band can make any crowd move!
GPJO has accompanied and toured with the Wichita Grand Opera company, performed for the Quiet Birdman Pilots Convention, the Charles Olsen Scholarship Fund Concert, the Kansas League of Municipalities, the Kansas Aviation Museum, and the Sweet Adelines. Performing for festivals, concerts, clubs, dances, seminars, corporate events, weddings, and parties of any kind. Everywhere they go, they deliver the good feelings that real jumpin’ jazz can create.
