MERCYME HIGHEST CAREER DEBUT
"I am excited about this sales debut by
MercyMe," remarked INO Records’ President Jeff Moseley. "To continually outdo themselves on each release is rare. In this business environment, a No. 3 debut by an artist is outstanding. We think it shows that the power of a song and a creative album still moves people and enhances their lives."The excitement about The Generous Mr. Lovewell began with great reviews from USA Today, Billboard, Christianity Today and more, and then ignited a massive twitter groundswell as artists such as Chris Daughtry, The Jonas Brothers, Mandisa, TobyMac, Jeremy Camp, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman and more tweeted their support for MercyMe and The Generous Mr. Lovewell. In addition, fans all across the country have been sharing their stories of seeing Mr. Lovewell in action as they experience and watch good deeds take place all across the world."We have just been blown away by all the support from everyone for this album,"commented lead vocalist Bart Millard. "But more than that, it’s incredibly humbling to see the "love well" idea take flight – there are so many people out there living for Christ and truly living His love in the lives of others. I am in awe and incredibly thankful for the opportunity to witness it all!"
Named Billboard magazine’s "Christian Song Artist of the Decade,"
MercyMe has been putting their message from The Generous Mr. Lovewell into action themselves over the past few weeks. Partnering with radio stations nationwide, they have made stops at Rescue Missions, serving food, washing dishes, and more, while also making personal visits to music fans, giving them intimate acoustic performances, fellowship and financial contributions to those in need. What is becoming known as the "lovewell phenomenon" will continue on throughout the year as the band moves forward in their efforts and tours the country. For more information on MercyMe and the album please go to www.mercyme.org .Since their debut in 2001, Grammy-nominated, American Music Award and multiple GMA Dove Award winners MercyMe have sold over 5.5 million units in CD and DVD sales, while being oneof few Contemporary Christian music groups to have had all of their recordings certified Gold or Platinum, as well as garner 22 No.1 multi-format Christian radio singles, and four consecutivemainstream radio hits with "I Can Only Imagine," (No. 4 AC/top 25 on Top 40/Hot AC), "Here With Me" (No. 4 AC), "Homesick" (top 10 AC), and "So Long Self." In 2009 BILLBOARD named MercyMe's "Word Of God Speak" the #1 Song of The Decade and the group the #1 Christian Songs Artist of the Decade, with an additional #1 as the Christian AC Song Artist of The Decade as one of the industry's most notable talents. It’s going to be Rods, Racin’ and Rock & Roll for the 4th of July
Hutchinson, KS. – Some may think it’s a little early to plan their Fourth of July family activities, but Jerry Regier, producer of the Hutchinson Rod Run has an amazing weekend planned that is sure to be a winner! The 3rd Annual Hutchinson Rod Run has moved to a new date, a new location and has an extended program of activities sure to please all ages.
Several months ago Regier was approached by C. Ray Hall of the 81 Speedway with a request to combine the Hutchinson Rod Run 2010 with the 54th Annual Grand National Stock Car Races which have been held for 53 years at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in late July or early August. Wanting to move the Rod Run to a warmer time of year after a cold, windy event in October 2009, Regier met with Hall and the two agreed to produce the joint event on the Fourth of July weekend 2010 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds offers some exciting advantages for Rod Run – more than 100,000 sq. ft. of inside, climate-controlled show area for vehicles and vendors, as well as more than 80,000 sq. ft. of outside grassy show area, for a swap meet, kid’s activities, the AT&T Arena for live entertainment and a dance floor, and all within close proximity to the Grandstands and the race track.
Last year Hutch Rod Run registered approximately 500 hot rods, street rods, rat rods, antique and classic cars and motorcycles. This year Regier is expecting even more with the premier inside show area available at the fairgrounds. On Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3, visitors will have the opportunity to view the show cars, check out the vendor displays and demonstrations, take part in the outdoor barbecue, hear great rock and roll music on the AT&T stage, and then be shuttled over to the Grand Stand to enjoy the stock car races, all for one joint daily ticket price of $15.00. After the races visitors will be shuttled back to the Rod Run and the AT&T Arena for music, dancing under the stars and celebrating. Sunday will begin with a pancake breakfast and Hot Rod Church outside and more show and shine, followed by the awarding of trophies and awards.
The schedule of events for Rod Run will take place between 12:00 noon and 11:00 pm on Friday, 9:00 am and 11:00 pm on Saturday and 7:30 am and
1:00 pm on Sunday. The 54th Annual Grand National Auto Races schedule will be open practice on Thursday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, a complete program including qualifying heat races and feature events for O’Reilly/NCRA Modified Series, O’Reilly/NCRA Sprint Car Series, and AAAModified, Hornets starting at 7:30 pm on Friday, and on Saturday, opening ceremonies at 6:00 pm followed by a complete program including qualifying heat races and championship featuring O’Reilly/NCRA Modified Series, O’Reilly/NCRA Sprint Car Series, O’Reilly/NCRA Southern Modified Series, Street Stocks, and Kansas Antique Racers at 7:30 pm.
